Also, we seem to be running out of good places to poop, because we don't like to poop on the ice, and when we walk on the snow, it crumbles beneath our paws. Bob was even forced to lift his leg to pee! As you may or may not know, Bob is normally a squatter. Dick Cheney is a sociopath. A few days ago, Mommy and Daddy were running around the house putting things away and taking away all our favorite dust bunnies. It was very confusing. But then our Grandma and Grandpa came to visit. We sort of behaved ourselves after five minutes of running around with great enthusiasm. Now, two days later, things are still clean. It's hard finding stuff to chew on when it's all thrown out or put away. Dickens and I have to resort to chewing on our toys. And, of course, chasing Emily the Cat.

Another Camping Trip

Bob here. We went to Lake Bomazine this past weekend. It was a lot of fun; there were a lot of people to bark at. Daddy let me have half a burger, but he kept all the beer for himself. There are a couple of people there who don't really like dogs, so Dickens and I made sure to bark at them an extra long time. We kept hearing weird words like "Shatner," "timeslot," and "Python." Every morning at 5:30, Daddy takes Bob and then me outside so we can do our business. The last couple of mornings, I've been too busy barking and sniffing the air to bother with pooping. This gets daddy mad. He pulls on my leash and urges me to do the "poopie dance," where I walk back and forth and go in ever smaller circles until I find the exact place to poop. When I don't feel like pooping, I just plant all four feet on the ground and give him a defiant look, which of course makes him madder. As Bob has told you, it's fun to make Daddy mad. I know that I can always poop in the kitchen. Daddy doesn't like it, and I don't get a treat out of the deal, but lucky for me, Daddy isn't of the rub-their-faces-in-it school. I just hang my head and act all dumb and ashamed, and Daddy sighs, gets a wad of toilet paper and cleans it up. I can get away with all of this, because I'm the kissie dog, and I kiss Daddy's face while looking at him with my loving, soulful schnoodle eyes!

Mr. Kissie

This is Dickens. As Daddy's favorite person, George W. Bush, might say, maintaining an interesting blog day-to-day is "hard work." Daddy assures us that each one of us separately has more brain power than the twice-appointed war criminal in the White House. We can't help but agree. We know where to pee and poop, and we haven't caused the deaths of untold thousands through our arrogance and incompetence. We have, of course, barked at untold hundreds of other living things, and that which we don't bark at we are sure to sniff. Anyhow, I'm kind of rambling on here because not much of importance has occurred. It's somewhat hot out, so we don't eat quite as fast, and we try to get more sleep. Friday night, Daddy came home and started bustling around getting things ready. I knew this meant we were going on a trip, so I barked nonstop just in case Daddy forgot that we wanted to go, too. Mommy came home and did some packing, too, but we didn't get in the car and go until it was nearly dark. When we got to the campground, Mommy had some trouble driving between the big rocks on either side of the driveway to the campsite. (Daddy's a big chicken, and won't drive the car when it's pulling the trailer.) We went to bed soon after, but Daddy was kept awake by the drunk people at a neighboring site. I got to sleep on Daddy's bed, but it got so cold I had to curl up into a little white ball to stay warm.
The next morning, Daddy as usual got me and Dickens up so we could do our business. Just then, the drunk neighbors started blasting their country music radio station. Daddy yelled as loud as he could "IT'S FIVE O'CLOCK IN THE MORNING! PLEASE TURN THE MUSIC DOWN!" This had no effect on the hungover Hank fans, who, fortunately for Daddy's piece of mind, went on to another campground to spread their infuriatingly obnoxious behavior. We got set up in our cage under a "screenhouse" to protect us from the sun, along with tarps so we couldn't see any other people. This didn't keep us from barking, because barking is our job. It rained really hard in the afternoon, so Mommy took us into the camper. Because the camp rules for pet owners say 1)keep your dogs quiet; 2)don't leave your dogs alone; and 3)don't take your dogs to the beach, Mommy and Daddy were pretty much stuck at the campsite with us. Which, of course, was just how we wanted it! At night, they snuck us down to the beach, so we could see all sorts of lights in the sky,and hear all sorts of big booms. Dickens sat on Mommy's feet most of the time, and then pooped twice on the way back to camp. He's a big chicken, just like Daddy.

Getting Our Haircuts

Bob here. Mommy took Dickens and me to the groomer lady to get our haircuts. I definitely needed a haircut, because it was getting so that I'd have to tip my head up just to see through or around all the fur that was growing down over my eyes. Daddy said I was starting to look like Brian Jones or Keith Relf or some guy named Michael Clarke in the Byrds. Sometimes Daddy goes on, and nobody knows what he's babbling about. Anyway, after we got baths and haircuts, the groomer lady put these little bandanas on us that looked like American flags. Being a dog, I'm not supposed to like catnip, but I do just the same. Daddy was quite annoyed when I refused to let go of it, even for a treat. Finally, I got bored and let him have his way. The Cat--they call her Emily--is quite the tease. But Dickens and I always come running when she meows. She has an older sister who pays no attention to us, so we return the favor. But Emily is a little floozie...though I think she likes ME the best.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://schnoodledog.blogspot.com/2006/06/cat-cat_26.html' title='The Cat! My name is Dickens the Schnoodle. I am Bob's younger brother, but, as he has informed you, I am somewhat bigger than him. I am much kissier than Bob, and I can bark at a higher pitch than he can. I can also jump higher. Mommy and Daddy seem to think that Bob is top dog, but that's just because I let Bob clean my ears and he doesn't let me clean his. I am jealous of any attention Bob gets, and I use my big schnoodle nose to push him out of the way. We frequently bark and growl at each other, and we like nothing better than to chase each other around the kitchen, growling, barking and snapping as we go. However, despite how tough we sound, we are best buddies. If something naughty needs to be done, we join forces to accomplish the deed. Daddy is so funny when he gets angry.

Correcting the Time Zone

Daddy seems to think that having the right time zone is important. This blog is about me and my brother Dickens, the schnoodledog. My daddy and mommy will continue this charade about a dog actually being able to post to a blog until they get sick and tired of it.
I am what they call a Maltese, which is a cute little white dog. I weigh about twelve pounds. The schnoodledog weighs about 19 pounds. He is a combination poodle and schnauzer, and if I didn't already hold the title of cutest dog in the world, he would. That's what I think, anyhow.
My daddy spends all sorts of time looking at blogs. Most of these blogs are of the opinion that George W. Bush is a poopyhead. Daddy thought that, under his supervision, I could start a blog too. This blog would not contest the notion that George W. Bush is a poopyhead, but perhaps not have that notion be the main topic of the blog. There are other more important things, like being able to grab dirty underwear out of the hamper and prance around the kitchen with it in my mouth, evading the schnoodledog, mommy and daddy, and the two cats.

Schnoodledog

This is the start of the Schnoodledog blog.
